Ethical Organisation
As you’d imagine for a company that helps people recycle, we take the environment seriously and try to do our bit in lots of ways.
“Corporate Social Responsibility” is the buzz phrase and we’re playing our part. In addition to the recycling which is our business, everyone at jewelleryrecycling.org is committed to minimising waste in the way we work.
Remember too that our jewellery collections don’t need anyone to make trips they wouldn’t otherwise be making.
We use the phone and internet whenever we can to save trees and some of our admin team work from home, which is great for mums! We purchase recycled items whenever we can and re-use and recycle all our paper/envelopes (including plastic ones) and we’re always looking out for bright ideas to minimise our costs and improve your return.
We’re a small company and our relationships with our customers and suppliers really matter to us. We ask all our customers for feedback so that we can listen, review our performance honestly and make the improvements you want to see. We pay our suppliers on time and don’t attempt to negotiate punitive contracts. Everyone’s entitled to earn their living without bureaucracy being used as an excuse to hurt the people who help deliver our services.
Our business is built on trust and integrity.
We must be doing something right because our staff never seem to want to leave the company. Perhaps it’s because they benefit from good wages, a small and friendly environment and a whole-hearted commitment to personal development.
Our staff thrive on doing their very best for the good causes we support.
Our whole ethos revolves around helping raise money for worthy causes like charities and schools. We’ve helped hundreds of thousands of people across the thousands of different organisations for whom we’ve raised money over the years.
The Willows Primary School in Penkhull received a cheque for £244.50 from us after pupils collected old and unwanted jewellery for recycling. The money has helped the school to pay for a new giant projector screen for its audio-visual system.
Head teacher Ian Gurney said: “The jewellery recycling scheme offers schools a fantastic way to raise vital funds. It is so easy and hassle-free as jewelleryrecycling.org provides you with everything you need. You’re not only raising money but also helping the environment along the way and I would thoroughly recommend it to other schools.”
We aim to get the best possible price for all the unwanted jewellery we recycle, which means maximising the value and minimising any re-processing. Saleable jewellery is exactly that. Broken jewellery might be mended or it might be sold for the value of its components, for example the metal.
