Raise Money, Recycle and Benefit Your Environment

Information for Primary Schools

Jewellery Recycling really is a very easy way for you to raise money, whilst encouraging social responsibility to your pupils through recycling and supporting the environment. We supply you with everything you will need to collect unwanted jewellery, (at no cost to yourselves), we even provide an Art Pencil Set as a prize for one pupil and arrange the valuation, sale and recycling of the collected items.

How Does It Work For Primary Schools?

You simply contact jewelleryrecycling.org to get the ball rolling.

We will arrange with you a suitable week for your collection to take place. We recommend that you start your project on a Thursday/Friday during term time.

We will send a container with sufficient collecting envelopes for all of your pupils, and an Art Pencil Set.

Please click here to view a sample collecting envelope.

The envelopes are distributed by 'pupil post' on the Thursday or Friday, asking for their return the following week for inclusion in the prize draw.

As the envelopes return they are placed in the container the envelopes arrived in. At the end of the week you draw one envelope from the container and arrange to award the Art Pencil Set to the lucky winner.

You seal the container and we arrange for it to be collected.

Jewelleryrecycling.org arranges the sale of scrap precious metals, buys the costume jewellery and takes any high value items to an independent expert for valuation.

Within eight weeks after receiving your donated jewellery, we will send you a cheque dependent on the total value of the collected items.

Top Tip for a really successful event:

If parents offer their families, friends and work colleagues a chance to join in and clear out their unwanted jewellery your result is sure to improve. We will supply plenty of spare collecting envelopes - so spread the word!

Why should I recycle?

Recycling reduces the demand for raw materials. This means less mining or quarrying. Many parts of the world have been blighted by mining and quarrying, which destroy the natural environment and wildlife habitats and can cause environmental and health problems for local people. Recycling is one way in which our community can lessen their usage of resources and help protect the environment.
